Gamma Eta Chapter
Gamma Eta Chapter was founded on March 16, 1982, in Columbus, Ohio. While our chapter started with 15 founding members, we have grown to a chapter of 56 members to include 6 living founding members and five active charter members. Our mission is to promote health education, and disease prevention, and serve our community through advocacy, partnership, and scholarship through sponsorship. While we are excited about our growth, we are responsible dedicated registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and nursing leaders looking forward to continued growth, volunteerism, and sponsorship.
Our signature program is with our Women and Teen program, providing health promotion information to young mothers. Our goal is to assist in decreasing the high incidence of low-birth-weight babies, reducing infant mortality, and reducing the health risks of mothers dying after childbirth. We support birth spacing and safe sleep. We mirror our work of the National level to our local level by partnering with the March of Dimes, hosting a March of Dimes walk in Columbus.
We actively fundraise to grow the nursing profession by hosting an annual fundraiser luncheon held every October to provide nursing scholarships and highlight our partnerships within the community. We look forward to serving the community in partnership, and volunteerism and welcome your monetary donations.
